Gibbs’ Rules

As set forth by the great Leroy Jethro Gibbs – NCIS

Rule #13: Never, ever bother Gibbs in interrogation.
Ep 410 “Smoked”

Rule #14: Never mess with a Marine’s coffee if you want to live.
Ep 209 “Forced Entry”

So….what are they?

Rules for an NCIS agent, rules for a Marine, or rules for life.

Well some will say life has no rules, others spend there days trying to figure out each and every rule to life they can. Perhaps to find themselves and what defines them. In actuality you define the rules for your game, and what rules you define shows what kind of a person you are. It’s not the rules that make the man, it’s the man that makes the rules.

I like Gibb’s rules, I will list a few of my own:

Rule #1 : Never screw over a friend.

Rule #2: Never let anything stand in the way of love.

Rule #3: Silence is not golden, loyalty is.

Rule #4: Surround yourself with those who will sharpen you. As iron sharpens iron,
so one man sharpens another.

Rule #5: If you touch my food I will stab you (I have witnesses to this)

Rule #6: In all that you do, do it for the right reasons

Rule #7: Never quit

Rule #8: Never quit (not a typo)

Rule #9: Take all in, filter out the bad, and keep the good

Rule #10: If it’s for you, walk away. If it’s for another, stay and fight

Rule #11: A man of valor does not call himself this, and when others do he does not listen.

Rule #12: An honorable man knows he is honorable, and that he is not…

Rule #13: Do not argue with a fool, else you may become one

Rule #14: In all things you do be honest. You may lie to yourself today, but tomorrow you still know the truth of the matter.

Rule #15: Strength of heart is greater than that of mind and body.

Rule #16: You do not have to carry a burden, but if you must carry another’s.

…more to come?

Wherever I walk,
everyone is a little bit safer because I am there.

Wherever I am,
anyone in need has a friend.

Whenever I return home,
everyone is happy I am there.
